CREC early years partnership SCITT launched

CREC are delighted to announce that St Thomas Centre Nursery has gained DfE accreditation to be a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provider and that from September 2015 up to 50 Teacher Trainees will be able to gain Qualified Teacher Status and PG accreditation with the CREC Early Years Partnership which comprises over 40 ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ schools in the West Midlands. 

 

The course has been devised to develop high quality teachers to work in the Early Years and the course, in addition to covering all Teaching Standards will include an emphasis on: multi-agency working; leadership in the EYFS; working with 2 year olds; SEN/D; and practitioner research.

 

Trainees will benefit from input by Professor Chris Pascal & Professor Tony Bertram of CREC who will co-ordinate the delivery team which will comprise current outstanding practitioners and university colleagues. Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree as well as at least grade ‘C’ at GCSE in Maths, English and Science. Student Loans and bursaries are available to cover fees and contribute towards living costs.
