CREC becomes a member organisation of the Early Education & Childcare Coalition

"We have a united aim and a united voice"

Sarah Ronan, acting director of the EECC

We are delighted to announce that CREC have become a member of the Early Education and Childcare Coalition. Having been fully supporting their collective aims and ambitions, we are now very proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with a diverse group of organisations calling for urgent action to rescue, reform and secure the long term future of the early years sector. Members of the Early Education and Childcare Coalition know that the complexity of policy in this area means that no single organisation can address the challenges alone, or effectively advocate for the many different voices within the system; that requires collaboration and partnership in the form of coalition working and CREC are ready to contribute our knowledge and experience to help progress this cause.

The coalition launched earlier this month with an initial report which sets out some interesting details on public perception on ECEC policy announcements and the sector more broadly – interestingly, 40% of respondents stated that they supported the government investing more money in early education and childcare even if that meant higher taxes for everyone. Read the full report here.

The Coalition also produced a wonderful film to mark their launch which sets out the challenges faced by the sector but also the importance of the sector – a ‘must watch’ for all, particularly those with responsibility for future policy and funding - The full version of ‘Further Together’ by Mill Road Creative is available to watch here.
