Kate Comberti
Kate Comberti is a violinist and research practitioner whose work uses improvisation to explore musical play in a variety of settings, from early years to people living with dementia and their carers. Her practice-based research for Creative Futures extends this work across London and the South Coast, with a particular interest in how creative, participatory approaches can support connection, learning, and wellbeing. She is especially interested in the multimodality of play and the role of musical empathy in shaping responsive, inclusive musical encounters. Currently she is mentoring CREC MA students preparing to submit their small-scale project assignment, and also mentors and tutors on the CME:EC Trinity College London, also held at CREC.
