Workshop on Assessment in the Reception Year: Navigating the Baseline and beyond

  • CREC St Thomas Children's Centre Birmingham, England, B15 2AF United Kingdom (map)

CREC, in collaboration with University of Wolverhampton, invite Reception teachers and Early Years leads to attend a free CPD event and workshop to explore assessment in the Reception Year. It will be an opportunity to hear from Professor Chris Pascal and Professor Tony Bertram talking about assessment, observation and taking time to really understand and support children’s development, before the project team introduces their work and facilitates a workshop allowing teachers to share and compare practice around assessment in the Reception Year.  Oh and there will be tea and cakes!

This workshop is being funded by the University of Wolverhampton and will be hosted by CREC on Monday 30th June from 4:30-6:00pm. It is part of a wider project led by David Meechan (University of Northampton), Professor Zeta Williams-Brown (University of Wolverhampton), Dr Tracy Whatmore (University of Birmingham) and Simon Halfhead (University of Wolverhampton) who have been exploring the impact of the Reception Baseline Assessment.
