Rhythms of Learning and Living

CSPACE Annual Conference hosted by Birmingham City University

The CSPACE Conference this year takes rhythms of learning and living as its theme. The concept of rhythm as a powerful element which frames and informs all aspects of human and non-human activity is increasingly being recognised as an important analytical tool in Education and the Social Sciences.

This conference aims to explore how rhythm may be useful in understanding how, when and where people learn, embodied experiences of learning and how learning is shaped by and entangled with the ‘stuff of living’ (Le Guin, 1986) in different cultural, temporal and social contexts.

Presenters are invited to share their research from whatever disciplinary/methodological/theoretical angle they choose, but are asked to make some connection, however rudimentary, to the concept of rhythms of learning or living as part of their contribution. Call for abstracts deadline is 15th May 2023.
